With close to two decades of professional experience in the healthcare industry, Dr. Kristina Zakhary has certainly proven herself as an extraordinary doctor and she is an expert Facial Surgeon. Dr. Zakhary is a dynamic, results-driven leader who has demonstrated success not only honing her expertise in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, but she has also mastered state of the art Facial Cosmetic Surgery techniques and combines unique skills of both a specialized facial surgeon and an artist to improve the health and confidence of her patients. Dr. Zakhary knew from a young age that she wanted to become a Doctor. She was only 17 years old when she entered Medical School, having been accepted into a very competitive fast track program at McGill University. She received both her Medical Degree and Masters Degree in coordination with the department of Plastic Surgery from McGill University and she completed her Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from the University of Toronto. After practicing several years in the public health sector, Dr. Zakhary decided to compliment her practice in the public sector by opening a private practice specializing in cosmetic surgery while continuing her public practice at the Calgary Health Region. Today, Dr. Zakhary balances her time between the two practices, while also taking a teaching role in the University of Calgarys Department of Surgery, where she has been a Clinical Assistant Professor since 2011.

Holding both a successful private and public practice in Alberta, Canada, Dr. Zakhary is the first woman in Calgary to be certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the first woman elected to be the Western Canadian representative on the Board of the Canadian Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Her expertise include: Rhinoplasty, Facelift, Forehead Lift Surgeries, Blepharoplasty (eyelid tuck), Otoplasty (ear tuck), Earlobe Surgery, Facial Wrinkle and Scar treatments, and Facial Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery.

In 2014 she was inducted into Top 40 under 40 by Avenue Calgary. Dr. Zakhary is an associate staff member of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary, Fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Member of the Alberta Medical Association and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and Alberta.
